At Dr. Jacques Charles Aesthetics, Health & Wellness Institute, we strive for excellence and we perform our waxing services as efficient as possible so that you have a successful waxing experience. If you have been undergoing facial surgery, chemotherapy, and laser treatment we highly suggest you wait for 12 months before coming in to our facility for waxing services. Waxing services should not be scheduled if you are receiving tanning service, and any other services that can irritate the skin. Once you have finished your waxing service, it is highly recommended to not tan for at least 36 hours. Also, it is highly recommended to not have sexual intercourse for a minimum of 24 hours after a bare Brazilian waxing service.
In addition, waxing is not to be done if you are currently taking Accutane (acne medication at the moment or in the past 4 months), Retin-A (acne and Anti-aging medication at the moment or in the last 3 months) and any other skin thinning acne medications. Sunburned skin, open wounds and skin can not be waxed. Waxing can not be done if you have just received a light chemical peel or a microdermabrasion in the last 5 days. A patient and or client must wait a minimum of 7 days after a chemical peel or microdermabrasion treatment in order to receive waxing services. It is strongly advised to not wait for more than 6 weeks before your next waxing treatment since you received your last treatment.
The following precautions should be taking after a waxing service. Do apply a cold towel or a cold compress to the waxed area if needed to minimize discomfort. Ice bags or a towel with ice works really well. Do not apply any products, lotions, or moisturizers for the next 3 hours after waxing service; do not wear anything extremely tight on the waxed area to avoid bumps and discomfort.
Because we always strive for excellence, we try to perform our waxing services as pain-free as possible so that you have a successful waxing experience. All hairs must be 1/4 to 1/2 inch, or two weeks of growth for best results. Any trimming and/or tweezing that is needed before the waxing service will incur additional charges. To minimize discomfort and pain during waxing, many clients find that taking their favorite pain reliever 45 minutes prior to their appointment makes their treatment more comfortable. Taking a pain reliever and drinking lots of water are advised before coming for your waxing treatment. To make our clients more comfortable during waxing treatments, we also carry Relax & Wax products to ease the discomfort of waxing. Call or stop by our office to purchase before your waxing service.
